WHAT: Eppendorf, a leading life science company, is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the Grand Opening of its expanded North American headquarters with a new distribution center in Enfield, Connecticut. Combined with their manufacturing center at 175 Freshwater Boulevard, Enfield represents the North American headquarters for Eppendorf. The event will be attended by notable leaders from the State of Connecticut along with local officials, business leaders, executives from the German-based company, and 150 employees.
Eppendorf has been operating in Enfield, CT since 2004 and has continued to grow their business and expand. This new distribution center will enable them to expand manufacturing efforts at the Freshwater Boulevard location while having a new state-of-the-art distribution center within the same town.
Eppendorf manufactures and sells laboratory equipment and services for scientific research worldwide. The company was founded in 1945 in Hamburg, Germany, and has since expanded to have subsidiaries in over 25 countries. Its product range includes pipettes, centrifuges, automated liquid handling systems, cell culture systems, and bioprocessing equipment. Eppendorf’s products are used in academic and industrial research laboratories including companies in the pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical and food industries
Aside from its location in Hamburg, Germany Enfield is the most critical location globally representing about 30% of their manufacturing efforts and 90% of their North American distribution. The facility will occupy over 230,000 SF of space in the 500,000+ SF distribution center that is owned by Winstanley Enterprises and also occupied by the Northeast’s premier dairy co-operative Agri-Mark. The facility has a strong focus on sustainability and is committed to reducing its environmental impact and supporting local community initiatives.
The grand opening event will feature a ceremonial ribbon cutting, remarks from Eppendorf executives and local/state officials, and tours of the new facility. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about Eppendorf's products and services, as well as its commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
